Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Maserati 8CL 7th Indy 500 1946 #52 Several Maseratis took the start at Indy in 1946, many of them cars which had raced there pre-war and a newly assembled example for Villoresi, built up from parts originally produced in 1939! The Italianís qualifying performance wasnít stellar, but he worked his way up through the field and eventually finished seventh, the last car on the lead lap. We are blessed with photos of the car from several angles and the overall shape and detailing on the model look very good. The paintwork has a sensible level of gloss for the period and a light wash has been applied to highlight vents and panel lines and add realism.
Last stocks of very well cast kits, usually metal but some resin, with a good level of metal and photo-etched detail. Colour density on decals can be a little inconsistent, as can instructions, but otherwise very good kits. An extensive range of accessories too. Publishers also of excellent Modelling Guides for those building and detailing Ferrari F1 subjects. Made in Italy.
