Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Ferrari 312PB Sebring/Brands 1971 Hand built available MM230M25 Sebring & MM230M51 Brands Hatch Although officially called the 312P by the factory, Ferrariís 3-litre prototype soon became known as the 312P/B by the media thanks to its F1 derived boxer engine and the name stuck. The first chassis was destroyed in Buenos Aires and this kit represents the second of the type built as it appeared in its first two races. At Sebring Ickx and Andretti proved the carís pace leading the race before the gearbox seized. At Brands Hatch they again had a few problems, but minor ones and although they only finished third, three laps down on the winner, they had managed to claw back five laps after early pit stops. For Brands Hatch the side intakes were partially covered and small etched inserts are supplied should you be building this option. The finished model photos in the instructions show the front radiator intake in silver but photos of the start of the race show this all painted red, which would be the simpler solution. The kit parts are the usual mix of very clean resin body and cockpit tub, plenty of white metal for the smaller parts and a fair amount of etch to finish things off, including for the chassis sides.
