Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine As in 1970, Porsche used the 908 for the twisting and demanding Targa Florio and Nurburgring races and 917s on the more open tracks. Like the 917s, the 908s sprouted stabilising rear fins for 1971 and there were also chassis changes, the most obvious of which was the addition of a more substantial rollover bar. The Targa was a disaster but at the ‘Ring a few weeks later, three of the four cars entered made a clean sweep of the podium and all four are offered here. Two cars each were entered by the Gulf Wyer and Martini teams and the liveries were all different. Marsh’s attention to detail on the decoration is clear with features such as the haphazardly applied Porsche stripe on the left hand side of car #4 being clearly pointed out in the instructions. This car also had white lower panels and these are included as decals so no masking is needed. The kit parts are of typically high quality and all four will make attractive models, whether you go for the winning #3 Martini machine or one of the others.
