Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine McLaren M8E Interserie Hockenheim 1971 Hand builts also available MM242M6, MM242M10, MM242M20 & MM242M33 As well as being popular customer cars in the Can-Am, the Trojan built M8Es also found favour with competitors in the European Interserie races. The four subjects offered as options within this kit are all from the July Hockenheim meeting, which apparently attracted a crown of some 40,000 to feel the noise. They’re all serious entries, with Teddy Pilette in #6, Chris Craft #10, Georg Loos #20 and Derek Bell driving Sid Taylor’s #33. Bell won the race and the others all suffered engine trouble, though they had covered sufficient distance to be classified. The kit parts are very similar to those in the Can-Am M8E (MM238) but the wings are a little more elaborate and the Craft car even has etched extensions to the front wheel arches.
