Paul Hawkins took over the Alan Mann Racing special AMR2 in 1967 and had the original lightweight aluminium bodywork replaced with standard panels so that it would be eligible for more races. This bodywork left a slight overhang on the sides as the Mann cars had a different sill design and so is a distinctive version of the GT40. Four options are offered in this kit, with two race versions from 1968 under Hawkins’ ownership and two from the following years when it had passed to Juncadella’s Escuderia Montjuich, still painted in Hawkins’ red and white. For the Silverstone car etched canard fins need to be fitted on the nose and for the other versions you will need to fill the mounting points for these. Otherwise it is a straightforward build of typically well thought out and made parts.

About Marsh Models

Well established maker of high quality 1:43 kits and hand-built models. Kits feature very precisely moulded resin bodies requiring minimal clean up, equally good white metal ancillary parts, very fine photo-etching where necessary, machined wheel rims, bespoke resin tyres and clearly printed decals. Instructions usually a clearly drawn exploded diagram and often include a sample paint chip if the main body colour is an unusual one. Hand-builts beautifully built and detailed, usually from a series of 100 pieces but LE range typically from only 25. Made in England
