Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Ford GT40 Le Mans 1965 #14 FAV Kit available MM271 Chassis P1006, entered at Le Mans by Ford Advanced Vehicles and run by John Wyer, set the specification for bodywork on customer cars. It was unusual in the Le Mans race in that it was still on wire wheels and the etched examples on the model are very fine. The roof mounted pit id light is missing but otherwise this one looks very good. Chassis 1017 also started its life on wires and arrived at Spa wearing Borranis, although it would appear that the wheels were changed before the race to the more conventional Halibrands. Race photos are relatively hard to come by for this one, the best being on the cover of Ronnie Spainís GT40 history which shows that the decal placement is correct but that there is a small bug screen missing from the bonnet.
