Ferrari 712 4th Road America 1972 #40 Jarier by Marsh Models
Ferrari 712 Road America 1972 Jarier
Hand built available MM280M
The 712 was built on the chassis of a factory 512M (#1010) and in the form raced by Jarier at Watkins Glen the shape of the original car is still evident in places. The 7-litre engine always made plenty of power, but handling was never great and the car was different aerodynamically on each of its few outings. Here we see fences on the front bodywork and a fairly conventional spoiler at the rear. These are etched parts in the kit, the rear wing made up of a folded main element and two-piece end-plates. A little fiddly perhaps, but the end result is very convincing. Also clever is the etch for the rear suspension tucked away under the rear. At first glance on the very well finished hand built model it appears that there are machined shock absorbers and springs in there but these are actually fine etch!

About Marsh Models
Well established maker of high quality 1:43 kits and hand-built models. Kits feature very precisely moulded resin bodies requiring minimal clean up, equally good white metal ancillary parts, very fine photo-etching where necessary, machined wheel rims, bespoke resin tyres and clearly printed decals. Instructions usually a clearly drawn exploded diagram and often include a sample paint chip if the main body colour is an unusual one. Hand-builts beautifully built and detailed, usually from a series of 100 pieces but LE range typically from only 25. Made in England
