Vauxhall Magnum Gr1 Spa 1977 Gulf #57 by Modellismo 90
The latest in a series of Vauxhall Magnums from Modellismo 90, this well cast kit offers the Gulf liveried car of Belgian duo Willy Braillard & René Tricot, who finished 8th at Spa in 1977. At first glance of the instructions we thought that there was an error as the car is shown as having BRDC badges on the sides, unlikely with no British drivers on board. However, this is clearly visible on a race photo of the car sweeping through what looks like Burnenville and it would appear that the car was the previous year’s Marshall/Lanfranchi entry with minor livery updates and the clearly printed decals in the kit take this approach, with a small additional sheet for the new numbers etc.

About Modellismo 90
Fairly simple to build, well cast and generally accurate kits with resin bodies, white metal ancillaries and a reasonable level of photo-etched detail. Most subjects are classic F1s but also a handful of rally cars and some transkits. Made in Italy
