Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine VW Beetle Rometsch Taxi 1951 Also available MTX32105-012 Grey We’ve not been able to find any figures for how many of these long wheel-base, four-door VW taxis were built but we do know that after Rometsch in Berlin made the first few, production passed to Messerschmitt for a short while to keep their factory busy due to sanctions stopping German firms building military hardware. The Beetle floorpan was lengthened 25cm for the conversion and two short doors on either side allowed simple access front and rear. It’s an interesting looking contraption and Matrix has modelled it to a decent standard with excellent paint and even a fine etched Taxi sign on the roof.
Very well finished resincast models. Made in China.
