Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine VW Rometsch Lawrence Coupe 1959 These fine coach built coupes were built using traditional methods of aluminium over a timber frame and some 250 are thought to have been made in Rometsch’s Berlin workshops between 1957 and 1961 when the Berlin Wall was built and much of the workforce found themselves on the opposite side to their employer! Beneath the striking bodywork was a humble VW Beetle chassis and the car modelled appears to be that in the VW museum. The two tone red and white paint finish is excellent and the trim has been neatly fitted. The shape looks good and it certainly makes for an unusual modelling subject.
Very well finished resincast models. Made in China.
