Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Mercer Cobra Exner 1965 White This extremely striking design first appeared as one of a series of drawings by Virgil Exner in the December 1963 issue of Esquire magazine. George Hartley, president of the Copper Development Association spotted the article and commissioned the car to be built to highlight the versatility of his industry’s products. AC supplied a complete Cobra chassis and Carrozzeria Sibona-Basano was entrusted with the build. As an attention grabber it certainly does the job, but it’s not what we’d call a pretty car. The model captures the angular lines very well and the various shades of copper and brass plating are duplicated. The fit and finish is to the high standard we would expect.
Very well finished resincast models. Made in China.
