Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Ferrari 250 GT SWB 7th Le Mans 1960 #19 Kit available MYS43056 Ferrariís magnificent 250 SWB is one of those subjects that is often a problem for model makers to get right in terms of shape, particularly at the rear end. The pattern makers here have done a pretty good job, itís not perfect but it is a lot better than most. Attention has been paid to the specific details of the original 1960 race cars and so we see the correct profile to the side windows, neat vents cast into the cleanly moulded body, a fine cabin vent on the rear windscreen and where needed, bumpers are supplied as plated metal parts. Kit builders should refer to race photos for placement of the bug screen on the bonnet as this wasnít uniform and on some of the hand built variants this piece made up of etch and flat acetate is mounted a little too far back. Another area which could be upgraded is to either scribe the vacform or add a small piece of flat material to the side windows to depict two-piece sliding units, as the vacform has these as a single pane as seen on the road versions. These small details apart, the hand built models are all very well finished with excellent paint and carefully placed decals.
Relatively simple resin & metal kits extremely similar in style to MG Models. Made in Italy.
