Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Steinmetz Opel Commodore Jumbo Nurburgring 1974 #101 In standard six-cylinder form the Opel Commodore was a fairly successful racer. Opel race-preparation specialist Klaus Steinmetz wanted more though and fitted a six-litre Chevrolet V8, based on F5000 tune, to create a 520hp monster with huge wings and wheel arches. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a suitable championship for the car, which rather pre-empted Group 5 proper, and he ended up running in the Interserie against Porsche 917/10s and the like, with little success! The car is modelled as it appeared in the Nurburgring 300kms in the hands of Peter Hoffmann (finishing 27th) and the bodywork and decoration checks out well for this event. A fabulous looking machine.
Very well finished resincast models. Mostly road cars, though with a few interesting competition subjects. Rapidly establishing themselves as one of the best ranges we see in terms of quality and value for money. Made in China
