Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Waibel Sports Special 1948 Green Swiss coachbuilder Hans Waibel built two of the Porsche prototypes shown at the 1948 Geneva Motorshow and this third car is often referred to as a Porsche prototype too, usually by those trying to sell it! It did have a Porsche tuned engine but the chassis was the longer (but very similar) Volkswagen platform. The grille on the front (from a Morris Minor!) fed air down the central spine of the chassis to cool the engine, assisted by an electric fan. Neo’s model represents the restored car and checks out well with recent photographs. The deep metallic green paint has a fine grain, the interior is well detailed and the brightwork is carefully placed.
Very well finished resincast models. Mostly road cars, though with a few interesting competition subjects. Rapidly establishing themselves as one of the best ranges we see in terms of quality and value for money. Made in China
