Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine DKW Meisterklasse Universal F89S 1951 The F89 was the first model put into production by the newly reformed post-war Auto Union, the factory sites of the original incarnation now being stuck behind the Iron Curtain. Saloon and coupe models of the small front wheel drive machine were launched in 1950 and followed in 1951 by this wooden-bodied ĎUniversalí estate which was replaced after two years with an all steel design. Itís the wooden sections which immediately draw the eye, the framing being very pale and contrasting well with the heavily grained infill panels and the bright metallic paintwork on the model. That wooden framing can be seen inside too and it is all very neatly done.
Very well finished resincast models. Mostly road cars, though with a few interesting competition subjects. Rapidly establishing themselves as one of the best ranges we see in terms of quality and value for money. Made in China
