Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Citroen Ami 6 1961 Red Citroen’s Ami was launched in 1961 and aimed to give a little more space and comfort than the 2cv upon which it was based, while still being cheap to run. The styling was very modern but the relatively high price meant that initially sales were slow. The first upgrades to the car came within six months of launch and the most noticeable was the addition of opening rear windows. It is one of the updated cars that we see here, with the window frames very neatly printed onto the flat acetate side glass. The unusual shape of the car is well captured and the excellent paint finish appears to be in a period correct colour.
Prolific maker of die-casts, most subjects having a French conection. Particularly good for concept cars and design studies. Made in China/France
