Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Ferrari 250 GTO TT, Kyalami ‘63/Daytona ‘64 Hand built available REN4362-09M11 1st TT REN4362-09M8 1st Kyalami REN4362-09M16 TT Piper & REN4362-09M35 Daytona As with many of the kits in Renaissance’s extremely comprehensive series of Ferrari 250 GTOs, two individual chassis are represented in this kit. The first option is chassis 4399GT as driven to victory in the 1963 Goodwood TT by Graham Hill when in the ownership of Maranello concessionaires. If taking this option, it will be necessary to mask the light blue section of the nose as no decal is offered. The other three race options are all for David Piper’s BP green chassis 4491GT and here the car can be built as his fifth placed car from that same Goodwood race, the Kyalami 9 Hours winner which he shared with Tony Maggs or, from the following season, the second placed finisher from Daytona, this time Lucien Bianchi sharing driving duties. Both cars were right hand drive and the well-cast resin parts replicate the body and main fittings very well, with the correct side vents and positioning of fuel filler and front lights. These cars ran with side exit exhausts rather than full length systems and the kit also includes separate doors should you wish to get a little more adventurous and open one or both up. The decals are clearly printed (though missing that nose band) and there’s plenty of etch for the small finishing touches.
Excellent kits, hand-built models and accessories (for plastic) using resin bodies, white metal parts, lots of very fine photo-etching and good decals. Some castings need cleaning. Excellent instructions. Beautifully built models too. Made in France
