Gordiniís Simca-powered T15S wasnít quite ready for Le Mans in 1949 so made its endurance racing debut in the Spa 24 Hours instead, retiring frustratingly on the Sunday afternoon with oil pump failure having set fastest lap. The following summer at Le Mans there were four cars, the original Spa machine among them, but again poor reliability stopped them in their tracks. The same four cars were back at Le Mans in 1951 but with bodywork revisions to aid cooling but again it was a full house of mechanical breakdowns. The final attempt at Le Mans was for a solitary car in 1952. The main difference between the kits is the body castings and you will need to pay attention to the drawings for the particular version that you wish to build. Visually the Spa car is the most interesting with a small vertical fin on the tail for the race number, but all are pretty. The hand built models are to a very high standard with excellent paint and neat placement of smaller parts. Very fine models of sadly unsuccessful cars.
