Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Having been a dominant force in 1996, the Porsche GT1 dropped behind in 1997 with podiums at Spa and Mugello being the only high points for the team in the FIA GT Championship. Renaissance modelled the works car in Le Mans form soon after the race and this kit is heavily based on that one, with some subtle tweaks to decals and etch for this version. As is usual with Renaissance ‘Integral’ kits, the well proportioned body is cast closed, but an extra pair of doors is included should you wish to cut the apertures. Whichever route you take, great care will be needed during paint preparation as it is very thin in places, particularly around the wheel arches. We’ve seen plenty of the Le Mans cars built up and the parts make a fine model, so this should be no different.
Excellent kits, hand-built models and accessories (for plastic) using resin bodies, white metal parts, lots of very fine photo-etching and good decals. Some castings need cleaning. Excellent instructions. Beautifully built models too. Made in France
