Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Aston Martin DBR1 Le Mans 1961 #5 Border Rievers Driving the same car with which he had finished third at Le Mans in 1960, Jim Clark was joined by Ron Flockhart in 1961 and in the early stages of the race they held high positions, thanks in part to Clark’s lightning start. By early evening things weren’t looking so rosy though and a long pit stop was followed by retirement with clutch failure. This is a subject that has been largely overlooked over the years, the 1960 car has been modelled many times but not this one. The well finished hand built here is a very limited run by SMTS and we have just ten examples, so be quick!
Reasonably well cast white metal kits that build with ease. Open wheeled subjects usually accurate, road cars not always so. With hand-built models again single seaters usually better. Made in England.
