Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Aston Martin AMR1 11th Le Mans 1989 #18 Also available RL120M19 #19 & RL120 kit Aston Martin returned to Le Mans after an absence of over a decade in 1989 with two Group C machines developed with input from Mallock and run by Ecurie Ecosse, the lead car finishing eleventh. SMTS have captured the shape of the car pretty well, the A-pillar is a little thick but otherwise things look good and the decoration is accurately placed and sized. The blue and red sections of the livery have been applied as decal which is then lacquered in and this looks a little inconsistent close up but from shelf distance everything looks spot on. A modest amount of etch has been used and the overall effect is a pleasing miniature.
Reasonably well cast white metal kits that build with ease. Open wheeled subjects usually accurate, road cars not always so. With hand-built models again single seaters usually better. Made in England.
