Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Aston Martin AMR1 Le Mans 1989 #19 Alternative version RL120M18 #18 & RL120 kit In 1989 Aston Martin returned to Le Mans after an absence of over a decade with two Group C machines developed with input from Mallock and run by Ecurie Ecosse. Sadly this example unfortunately failed to finish the race. SMTS have captured the shape of the car pretty well, the A-pillar is a little thick but otherwise things look good and the decoration is accurately placed and sized. The blue and red sections of the livery have been applied as decal which is then lacquered in and this looks a little inconsistent close up and the mirrors and sunstrip are red to match the rest of the livery but look far more orange on race photos.
Reasonably well cast white metal kits that build with ease. Open wheeled subjects usually accurate, road cars not always so. With hand-built models again single seaters usually better. Made in England.
