Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Hanomag Diesel LSR 1939 Hanomag were early adopters of diesel engines for private car use and as a promotional piece they unveiled this spectacular streamlined machine at the 1936 Berlin motorshow. It was some years before it ran properly but in February 1939 the company’s chief test driver, Karl Haeberle, set several diesel speed records on the Dessau autobahn. Schuco’s model depicts the record car and the finish is excellent with very fine panel engraving on the bodyshell beneath the smooth silver paint and flush fitting windows.
