Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine VW Beetle Jolly 1960 If my mediocre German is to be trusted, it would appear that this one off open Beetle was built as a concept by Karmann in 1960, the inspiration coming from Ghia’s similar treatment of a Fiat 500 to make a beach car a few years earlier. The model matches photos of the restored car very well with its pale green paintwork and extensive use of wicker-work not only on the seats but also the floor coverings. The real car has a removable canopy but it is in pure open form that we see it modelled here.
