Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine It's been a while since we last saw a new release in Christian Gouel's SLM 43 range and as is the whole intention of this series, it is another of those rarely heard of machines without which Le Mans grids would have been very sparse indeed during the pre-war era. This 1100c.c. six-cylinder machine finished fourteenth overall and comparing the built model with the photo in the Le Mans 'bible' the shape of the model looks good, though there is a large spot lamp attached to the scuttle by the driver on the model which appears to be a horn on the real car. The hand built is well finished and the parts that it has been assembled from look pretty builder friendly, with a resin body that will need just a little light flash removal and white metal parts that are very good indeed. There is a modest amount of photo-etch to finish things off and the decals are clearly printed.
