Spark - Bizzarrini GT 5300 Spyder SI Prototype 1:43 model
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Just three spider versions were made of the Bizzarini 5300 and this was the first prototype, shown at Geneva in 1966. The car featured pop-up headlamps and a two piece removable roof with targa panel and rear hoop which combined with a retractable rear windscreen to make a full convertible. It is in this all open form that we see the car here and the detailing of the rear screen and the interior are excellent. The model has a satin aluminium finish whereas the restored car is painted with a gloss finish, but the original showcar is described as aluminium, so we guess that this is what Spark were aiming for.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
