Spark - Abarth OT 1000 Coupe Pininfarina 1:43 model
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Abarth and Pininfarina were near neighbours and worked together on a number of projects. This rather unusual coupe had started out as a spider and then in 1965 a roof was added to the design. At the front there is a wide plexiglass central section containing four headlamps (similar to Pininfarina’s 1965 Ferrari Dino concept) while at the rear things were a little more angular. It is the roof that is most interesting though as the whole glasshouse hinged forward at the bottom of the windscreen while the doors opened conventionally. Weird. We like weird, but we’re not so keen on heavy black panel lines.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
