Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Alpine A442 Le Mans 1977 #9 Alternative version SPK1553 #7 & SPK1554 #8 Having run a single entry the previous two years, Renault staged a serious assault on Le Mans in 1977 with three near identical cars crewed by some of the fastest drivers available. Jabouille and Bell were entrusted with this example and started the race from pole position, only to retire with engine failure. The long tailed shape of the car is very well replicated and the body has an excellent yellow paint finish with the black and white sections of the livery all applied as decal. The very smooth design of the car makes for a simple model externally although there’s a fair amount of detail in the cockpit.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
