Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Lotus 109 Japan 1994 Salo Alternative versions SPK1670 Herbert SPK1671 Zanardi SPK1678 Bernard & SPK1679 Adams This is one of those “if you can’t be quick, be pretty” subjects as Lotus struggled for performance during 1994. With Lotus in administration by mid-season, Ligier bought Herbert out of his contract and various drivers with funding took his seat, Mika Salo making his F1 debut with the team in Japan. It was certainly a good looking machine, especially from above and Spark has done an excellent job of replicating the decoration. This has all been done in decal, so the finish is satin over most of the car, but the colours and printing are nice and clear. Overall the details appear accurate but we do have a query over the tyres on the Salo car as it was a wet race and the model is on slicks.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
