Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Lotus 18 Belgium 1961 Bianchi Equipe National Belge entered three cars for Spa, a Ferrari for Gendebien, who went on to win, and Emerysons for Mairesse and Bianchi, both of which suffered chassis failures in practice. For the race a pair of Lotus 18s was borrowed from non-qualifiers, Bianchi’s car being the Scuderia Colonia machine of Wolfgang Seidel. There are photos of Bianchi in this car in practice complete with Colonia badges on the side and it is in this form that the car is modelled. However, both borrowed Lotuses were, in the words of the period Motorsport report, “quickly distempered in the Belgian national yellow” in time for the race.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
