Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine In 1969 someone high up at Porsche realised that, while they were very good at building racing cars, they needed a little more experience in the running of them at the highest level if they were to win Le Mans outright. Enter John Wyer and his Gulf sponsored team. The new partnership was announced in the autumn of 1969 with a very attractive Gulf colour scheme on a long tailed 917, though Wyer chose not to race the car in this body configuration and the liveries were changed on the race cars. Itís a shame because it was a great looking car and Sparkís model captures the bodywork decoration superbly. However, the various photos of the car that we have both in what appears to be the factory car park and the press launch in a London hotel show the car with orange wheels, not silver as on the model.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
