Brabham BT49C Monaco 1981 Rebaque by Spark
Alternative version SPK4347 Piquet Argentina
Nelson Piquet qualified on pole for the Monaco Grand Prix, but his team mate didn’t have such good fortune with an accident and then mechanical failure meaning he didn’t get into the race at all. With that in mind it’s a slightly odd choice of race to model as he scored some reasonable results in other races. There are plenty of photos from Monaco though and from these we can see that the specific details on the model look good and the finish is to the usual high standard.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
