Ensign N177 Germany 1978 #23 Ertl by Spark
Ensign N177 Germany 1978 Ertl
Alternative version SPK4815 Piquet
Harald Ertl’s main focus for the 1978 season was the DRM, which he won, but backing from Sachs suspension also gave him another opportunity of some F1 races. The first of these came at Hockenheim and he was running sixth when his engine failed with just five laps to go. Spark’s basic Ensign model is crisply moulded and we see fine etched parts buried deep in the side pods. The finish on the model is excellent and the simple sponsorship all neatly applied.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
