Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Porsche 953 Dakar 1984 #175 Ickx Alternative version SPK4880 #176 SPK4882 #177 & SPKSF071 test The 953 was a four-wheel drive version of the 911 specifically built to win the Paris-Dakar rally and three were entered in 1984. The winning aim was achieved and this example, driven by Jacky Ickx, backed that up with sixth overall. The main bodywork looks much like any other 911SCRS rally car of the time, but the ride height is greatly increased and beneath the car there are several mud flaps and protective skid plates visible, all replicated here with etch. To complete the decoration a number of easily found decals will need to be applied to create a fine model.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
