Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Lotus 38 1st Indy 500 1965 Clark The 1965 Indy 500 was one of the most significant in the history of the event. Jim Clark became the first overseas driver to win the race since 1916, it was the first win for a rear-engined car, the first for a Ford engine and Clark became the only driver ever to win the 500 and the F1 World Championship in the same season. Spark has done an excellent job of researching their model, not falling for pictures of the press launch or restored car and getting all of the details such as mirror placement and minor sponsors correct for the race. The driver figure is sat good and low in the car and the exhausts are correctly painted yellow and have hollow tips.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
