Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Le Mans 2011 was a bit of a mess for Audi, with only one car finishing, albeit winning, and the others crashing out. 2012 was rather better as the four cars crossed the finishing line in formation at 3PM on the Sunday occupying all three podium positions and fifth. Aerodynamically the four cars were identical but under the skin things were very different, the lead two machines fitted with hybrid powertrains that deployed KERS generated electrical power through the front wheels, while cars 3 & 4 were conventional turbo-diesels. The liveries were different for the two types with the hybrids wearing a bright white and silver scheme, the diesels in a more traditional black, red and silver. The finish on all four of Spark’s models is excellent with smooth chrome on top of the cockpits, carefully placed decals, lots of etch, plenty of carbon decal and of course accurate shapes.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
