Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine These two short tailed 917s experienced rather different levels of success in the 1970 running of the Le Mans 24 hours. The #21 Gulf machine was running in second position early on but was forced to retire when the cooling fan failed, while the red and white Salzburg team car went on to record an historic outright victory, the first of many for Porsche in this great race. The main physical difference between the cars is the addition of a small spoiler in the centre of the tail of the Gulf car and this, along with the other small details, is neatly modelled. The colour on the winning car looks slightly pale to us but the overall decoration checks out well otherwise.
Very well finished mass produced resin built models. Ever improving detailing now incorporating more use of photoetched details for added finesse and with excellent paint finishes. Made in China
