Maserati Birdcage Mansfield 1963 #93 Bair by J-F B Models

Delivered end of 1960 new to George Humiston of California, #2469 was white with red scallops and a red dashboard, adorned by artist Von Dutch (brother in law of Bill Krause). Entered at its 1rst race for Bill Krause who won the Times GP. Only 3 events with Krause, of which 2 wins (Riverside, Pomona). Sold in beginning of 1961 to Chuck Sargent of California who resprayed #2469 with a new design of red scallops. Sargent raced #2469 in 11 events, of which 5 wins (61- Stockton, Laguna Seca, Cotati, 62- Laguna Seca, Stockton). Sold to Dick Bair of Ohio in mid-1962 who repaired the tired Birdcage, painting the chassis in black and the body in red. Entered with Dick Bair in 6 events in 1962 and 1963, no wins. Now in Indianapolis Speedway Museum, #2469 is unrestored as the end of its racing career in 1963 at Mid-Ohio.
