Jaguar C-Type 1st Reims 1952 #50 Moss by K & R Replicas
Jaguar C Type Reims 1952 Moss
The sports car Grand Prix held at Reims in late June saw Stirling Moss score an historic victory in blistering heat, his win being the first for a disc braked car. The main kit parts are very familiar and to go with the well-proportioned and clean castings there are etched spokes for the kit-form wire wheels and an etched grille, which will need gentle shaping before fitting. The instructions say to paint the car a light metallic green and it is not clear whether or not the car was metallic from the period black and white photos. It is described as pastel green and there were metallic and solid variants in Jaguar’s catalogue and the car has been restored at Jaguar’s behest in the solid colour.

About K & R Replicas
Well cast and easy to build, if rather crude, metal kits. Usually accurate though occasionally a bit odd. Wire wheels of the self - assembly type. Decals, when included, often slightly yellow (typical of many English makers) but will bleach with exposure to u.v. light. Now including a little more photo-etch. Made in England.
