Ferrari 225S 1st Sicily 1952 #6 by Faenza 43

The Touring-bodied 225S chassis 0166EL carried Eugenio Castellotti to his first career victory when he won the Coppa d’Oro di Sicilia sports car race in 1952, making it a pretty significant piece of racing history. With a Ferrari works seat lined up, Castellotti sold the car and the next owner was Briggs’ Cunningham’s nephew Bill Lloyd, who raced extensively with the car, now painted white, and among his better results was a class win and seventh overall at Watkins Glen. Both models are very well finished with excellent paint and carefully placed decals, as well as neatly observed specific details such as a blind across the lower radiator on Castelotti’s version.

About Faenza 43

Charming hand-built resin models of interesting and often obscure subjects. The various Ferrari and Maserati machines which ended up in SCCA races of the late 50s and early 60s are a particular speciality, but also plenty of machines raced in Europe too. Paint finishes sometimes a little flat )or should that be more realistic!?) but otherwise very good. Made in Italy.

A dedicated team, we provide the personal touch!
