Rolls Royce Phantom Experiment by Barker by Matrix

Rolls Royce Phantom EX10 by Barker 1926
EX10 was the first of four experimental ‘lightweight’ roadsters created on Phantom chassis to show the more sporting potential owner what a Rolls Royce could be like for them. Having originally been finished in grey for factory trials, it was repainted light blue and black as seen here but the references we have suggest that the interior was black, rather than the tan it is now. The overall shape matches those period images well and the panel engraving on the bodyshell is extremely crisp. The paintwork on our sample is immaculate and there is some fine detailing on what is a relatively simple design, with excellent wire wheels and a windscreen which is particularly delicate.

About Matrix

From the original creators of the Neo range, this resincast series offers a wide range of mostly road car subjects. Some are very familiar classics but we also see plenty of very rare and usual machines ranging from Maharajah's Rolls Royces to Citroen and Volvo limousines! Overall casting quality is excellent, paint finishes usually to a very high standard and plenty of fine etch used for small trim. Wire wheels on some subjects can be a little unconvincing but otherwise very consistent. Made in China.
