Studebaker Champion 1st Carrera Panamerica 1999 #101 Corona by Spark

The original Carrera Panamericana was short lived and ended in 1954, but in the ate 1980s the event was resurrected as a classic event for cars of the period. These soon evolved into modern racers under classic bodywork and Studebakers seemed to be the cars to have winning the vast majority of the modern events. Most successful of them all is the car of Pierre de Thoisy, modelled here as he won the third of five consecutive events. The modern wheels give a hint at the 500+ hp underpinnings and the bright livery looks fantastic. Great fun.

About Spark

The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China
