Ghia Streamline X Coupe Gilda 1955 by Avenue 43
Originally shown at the 1955 Turin Salon, Gilda was a project inspired by Virgin Exner at Chrysler and executed beautifully by Ghia. At the height of the obsession with the 'Jet Age' in concept cars, this striking machine was originally a purely static show car with no power unit or rear suspension but has subsequently been restored and fitted with a period correct gas turbine engine. Comparing the model with photos of the real thing from Pebble Beach, the makers have done a lovely job and the model is beautifully finished.
