Lola T222 Interserie Hockenheim 1971 #4 Bonnier Racing by Group 7
Produced for a Danish client under the name of Group 7, this is a typical Marsh Models kit and hand built. The car modelled was entered by Jo Bonnier for the Hockenheim Interserie race in July 1971 and though it had the owner’s name on the side it was actually Vic Elford who was entrusted with racing the new car, qualifying second and leading the race until loose bodywork forced him to slow down and settle for third. The kit is based around a well cast resin body with most of the ancillary parts in white metal except for the bespoke resin tyres, the machined intake trumpets for the semi exposed engine and the wealth of photo-etch. The etch includes an interior chassis tub and lower outer chassis parts along with the rear wing and the usual small fasteners and brackets. The hand built model is all finished as we would expect from Marsh with excellent paint and neatly applied detailing and it matches the real car photos on the instructions very well.
