Bluebird CN7 - Donald Campbell's Last Land Speed Record Car by Book

weight 1.1kg by Donald Stevens Donald Campbell's Bluebird CN7 was the last wheel driven car to hold the outright land speed record and the young Donald Stevens was the first employee of the car's designers Norris Brothers Ltd, going on to become project manager on the construction of the car. This gives him an unparalleled insight into the project and here he shares his memories and his archives relating to the project. The text is well written and informative and covers all events of the times including his helping the police with their enquiries on a murder investigation! There are a wealth of excellent illustrations regarding Bluebird, from concept drawings to more detailed blueprints and photos taken both during the build and at Bonneville for the record attempts. There are also reproductions of fascinating period literature including a leaflet produced by Dunlop explaining the development and testing of the tyres specifically made for the car. A must for Land Speed Record enthusiasts.
