Sunbeam Alpine Sebring 1961 #40/41/42 by K & R Replicas
Three Sunbeam Alpines were entered at Sebring in 1961, two by the New York Rootes importer and the third by Jack Brabham, though all were effectively factory cars and painted the same colours. It was the #42 Brabham team car that scored the best result, finishing seventeenth overall, one of the importer entries finishing thirty fourth and the other failing to make the flag. The cars had contrasting hard tops fitted and the kit is cast with these as separate pieces to ease painting. The wire wheels are in kit form with cast rims and hubs and etched spokes and these will be the most fiddly part of an otherwise straightforward build.

About K & R Replicas
Well cast and easy to build, if rather crude, metal kits. Usually accurate though occasionally a bit odd. Wire wheels of the self - assembly type. Decals, when included, often slightly yellow (typical of many English makers) but will bleach with exposure to u.v. light. Now including a little more photo-etch. Made in England.
