Peugeot 908 1st Le Mans 2009 #9 Brabham/Gene/Wurz 1:24 by Renaissance
We've been expecting this kit for a while and it certainly doesn't disappoint. A little surface preparation will be needed on the main body casting but the shape of Peugeot's diesel powered prototype looks good and there is a fair level of detail. The doors on the car were basically just framed windows and these are included as photo-etched parts and can be posed open or closed should you wish. The decals are clearly printed and in addition to the main decal sheet with all of the white and blue decoration, there is a sheet of Baremetal Foil (BMF) with templates to allow the fitting of the chrome elements of the decoration. Most builders will no doubt opt to recreate the winning car but the two sister machines are included as options should you perhaps have a favoured driver in one of the others or even want to build the full set. The instructions point to the main bodywork of the car being carbon and suggest either painting in satin black or, if you're a little more confident, covering with carbon decal. These decals are not included but there are plenty to choose from, the Scale Motorsport (SKU1024 & SKU1524) and Studio 27 (STUFP002 & STUFP019) sheets being the easiest to work with.

About Renaissance
Excellent kits and conversion sets (for plastic) using resin bodies, white metal parts, lots of very fine photo-etching and good decals. Some castings need cleaning. Excellent instructions. Classic subjects (REN43 refs) are relatively simple builds, while the Integral series (RENI) of more modern subjects are a little more complex. Made in France
