Porsche 934 Le Mans 1980 #94 Eminence by Renaissance
By 1980 the Almeras brothers had been preparing Porsches for Le Mans for a number of years, but this was the first year that they actually drove one of them in the event. The car was typically well built and fast and they looked to be on course for a class win having lead Group 4 for 21 hours from the start before the car slid off the road when there was a sudden rain shower at about 1pm on Sunday and retired with broken suspension. The kit is well moulded in a style similar to Arena’s 911 derivatives, with the bumpers and rear deck as separate pieces. Some slightly fiddly masking will be needed around the lower edges of the car for the white and blue stripes but the rest of the decoration is on a well printed decal sheet. There is plenty of etch and the option is included to cut the driver’s door out and pose it open for the more advanced modeller. The vac-form has the now familiar white protective film on and should you choose to ignore this and use flat sheet for the windows instead, the instructions describe how to do so.

About Renaissance
Excellent kits and conversion sets (for plastic) using resin bodies, white metal parts, lots of very fine photo-etching and good decals. Some castings need cleaning. Excellent instructions. Classic subjects (REN43 refs) are relatively simple builds, while the Integral series (RENI) of more modern subjects are a little more complex. Made in France
