Mercedes Blue Zero Concept 2010 by Spark
Unveiled at the 2009 Detroit Motorshow, this plug in hybrid concept was reportedly going to be available on a lease basis in 2010, but we’ve been unable to find anything on Mercedes’ website. Anyway, the model matches show photos well and there are some very unusual features on the car which are clearly designed to clean up airflow as much as possible, such as clear disc covers on the wheels and clear spats over the rear wheel arches. The rear lights are hidden within the rear tailgate glass and it all looks very crisp, clean and futuristic.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
