Alpine Renault A443 Le Mans 1978 #1 by Spark
The A443 led the Alpine-Renault charge at Le Mans in 1978 and was the fastest car in the race by some margin, but that speed came at the cost of reliability and it retired after eighteen hours. Spark captured the long tail bodywork of the car very well and the sponsorship and livery is neatly applied. The vents above the front wheels have been picked out with black paint which is a little uneven but otherwise our sample is immaculate.

The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars.
